About Us
The handiwork is down to Caroline - it all started about 8 years ago when she got a pyrography tool for a brithday. Things just went on from there. The stools were born and Caroline started doing craft fairs and built her first website.
From there, Mattesdon Cottage Crafts has gone frm strength to strenth. Caroline still enjoys doing the stools most of all but she has branched out into toyboxes, chairs and trinket boxes. There have been other items in the past and commissions for a certain item are always welcome.
Since the birth of our two sons, Caroline has been doubly busy so if a stool takes a few weeks to reach you, please forgive us. Caroline is generally running round after a baby and a toddler during the day and using evenings and the odd nap time to burn and paint stools!
More recently, and in a bid to quit her proper job, Caroline has opened Mucky Messy Kids - a messy play company. This was born out of a very stressful afternoon of painting with a one year old! If the laid back and non-house proud Caroline could feel this way about paint up the walls, what must other mothers be thinking?! Currently, Mucky Messy Kids offer children's parties and the odd toddler group. The future will, I am sure, bring more toddler groups, less 'proper job' and more laughter!
